The talent of life-asserting art bringing people Love and Light of the great icon-painter Andrei Rublev, the follower of Feofan Grek, appeared, developed and grew stronger in the epoch of cruelty and barbarism. The original features of the Russian national character that is deeply rooted in the remote past are depicted with a great strength in the film that is one of the classical works of the national cinematograph... The white sun of the desert

Director: V. Motil. Starring: A. Kuznetsov, P. Luspekaev, S. Mishulin, R. Kurkina, T. Fedotova et al. Both the old and the young know the plot of this Soviet “super western” almost by heart. Insidious Abdulla kills Petrukha and Giulchatai, fascinating Verechagin will also die but Fiodor Sukhov will still get out of a hopeless situation by the help of his faithful Said; his true bullet will overtake the villain. Anybody will tell you about it and…stick to the screen again having seen the subtitles of the legendary film.

Beware of the car

Director: E. Ryazanov. Starring: I. Smoktunovsky, O. Efremov, O. Aroseva, A. Mironov, A. Papanov et al. Detochkin, an insurance agent, with an extremely sensitive feeling of justice is the comedy hero. He hijacks the cars acquired (to his mind) in a dishonest way. The money he gains is transferred to children’s homes. The hero sticks to the mind that thus he helps justice but the lawyers turn out to have quite a different viewpoint…

The exocentric comedy about a modest Russian worker who starts a heroic combat against the gang of smugglers. The given film remains one of the most favorite films among the public for more than a

quarter of the century. An enchanting cascade of tricks, jokes and witty remarks, musical items performed by the brilliant comedy actors invariably “infect” any audience with laughter.

Hussar ballade

The army of Napoleon has invaded in Russia, and young Shura Azarova, dressed in a hussar uniform, leaves her home to struggle against the enemies. She leaves her home for future dangers and love. Irony and romanticism running through the whole film make it especially attractive for the audience.

Nine days of a year

Director: Ì. Romm. Starring: A. Batalov, I. Smoktunovsky, T. Lavrova, N. Plotnikov, Å. Evstigneev et al. The given film about the atomic physicists has become one of the brightest events of cinematographic art of 60-s. The fate of a young scientist whose sense of life is concentrated in his research work is in the focus of attention. Even having got a fatal radiation doze, he continues persistently his experiments though each can turn out to be the last one. The Grand Prize “Crystal Globe” at IFF in Karlovy Vary, 1962; the best film of 1962 due to the poll results of “Sovietsky Ekran” magazine; Diplomas of Honor at IFF in San Francisco (1962) and Melbourne (1965); Film director and screenplay author M. Romm, screenplay author D. Khrabrovitsky, camera man Lavrov, film designer Kolganov and actor A. Batalov got RSFSR State Prize named after the Vasilyevs brothers (1966).

I am walking along Moscow 

Director: Daneliya. Starring: A. Loktev, N. Mikhalkov, Polskikh, Å. Steblov, V. Basov et al. The genre of a lyrical comedy is the one where Georgi Daneliya’s talent was displayed in its full glory. He began his rise to the popularity heights with the film “I am walking along Moscow”. The young talented actors accompanied him on his way to the summits of glory. Music by Andrei Petrov... There is hardly a man who does not know the song on Gennady Shpalikov’s words that became a leit-motif of the given film about good Moscow boys and girls of sixties, their mutual aid, friendship and, of course, love…The film was marked at the cinematographic art contests in Italy, Czechoslovakia and France.
