Polish actresses have played a special role in Russian film history. Their unusual beauty and noblencharm brought a lot of attention to their works, which became close and loved. Some of them are more popular in Russia than in Poland.

Beata Tyszkiewicz is one of the most famous Polish actresses in the world. She was born in Warszawa (14.08.1938) in family with old aristocratic traditions. The noble beauty helped her in the historical moves, which made her popular in many countries. Tyszkewicz had her star time in 60-s, when she played her best roles and was invited by many foreign film directors. Her husband, A. Wayda, filmed Beata in several costume movies by Polish classical writers. Mikhalkov-Konchalovsky opened her gift for Russians giving B. Tyszkewicz the role of a noble girl in "Nest of Nobility" I. Turgenev novel. It's possible to say that since her appearance in Soviet movie the great love to Polish actresses has started in our society.

Barbara Brylska (1941-06-05) is one of the most popular (and beautiful) actress of Polish movie. For the first time she appeared on screen being a schoolgirl. In 1967 Barbara graduated from the High School of Cinema in  Łodzi. But as a student she played in film "Pharaoh" (1965), which made her known for many film directors in country and over it. She worked in the most of socialist countries, but hardly it's possible to find another one, where she is so loved as in Russia. E. Ryazanov's film "The Irony of Fate, or Enjoy Your Bath"(1975) has made her a favorite for long years. Every New Year Eve millions of Russians watch that old comedy. Valentina Talyzina gave her her voice, Alla Pugacheva sans songs for her, and this mix of three

women's work created the charming image of a eternal feminility.

Ewa Szykulska (09.09.1949). A famous Polish actress graduated from the High Theater school in Warszawa in 1971. Her first work in movie was in a Hungary film, when she was 19 years old. Szykulska is a theatre actress mostly. From time to time she gets roles in TV serials. She is more popular in Russian thanks her characters in historical movies. Ewa played the first love of the famous Russian writer, Dostoevsky. Then was a movie from 20-s years and again the role of a writer's beloved. But the best and most known her role is the touching image of French girl, who dared to go after her big love even in Siberia. "The star of fascinating happiness" and Ewa Szykulska has charmed millions of romantics in Russia.

Director: V. Motyl. Starring: Ewa Szykulska, A. Batalov, O. Yankovsky, I. Kupchenko, N. Bondarchuk, Smoktunovsky, I. Kostolevsky. et al. The film spans a few years around year 1825 when a group of Russian officers prepared, failed and were prosecuted for a coup to establish a constitutional monarchy in Russia. Historical realities however are the least of concerns for the director who concentrated instead of timeless issues of love, betrayal, and honor. Well acted and fast paced movie .
