Evgeniya Simonova was
born in Leningrad (1.06.1955). She studied at
ballet school, graduated from Gnesiny musical
school. In 1972 Simonova came to Moscow and entered
the Shchukin Higher Drama School. Her movie début
was in 1973 in Leonid Bykov's film "Only
"old men" go in fight", where Evgenia
played a young woman pilot. Her name has become
famous for real only after G. Danelia's comedy ''Afonia".
The nurse Katya (her role) was a touching girl
image, clear, naive, kind and loving. During the
next work in movie (adventure film "The lost
expedition") she met her future husband

director).
Since 1976 E. Simonova stared her work at the Mayakovsky
theatre. A lot of theatre and movie roles brought
her the State Prize of the USSR in 1984.
Among her best roles could be named the Princess
from " Ordinary Myracle", Anna Snitkina
in film about Dostoevsky life, some
works by the classical writers. One of her last
roles is the mother of two daughters in "Salomea"
(TV serial).
