Sometimes we get in
such situations, when it seems that absolutely nothing could be done
to improve it. One keeps on trying different ways, but the hard wall
surrounds without giving a chance to ruin its cold block.
The people forced
to live with incurable disease know this very well. When there isn't
a medicine or a treatment which could help you, when nothing can be
done so it kills or leads to the degradation. There is possibility
to wait submissively for the end and to grieve for unrealizable
dreams. However, if one chooses this way, so rather soon would get
into the bottomless bog of self compassion, and getting out it is
hellish hard. It swallows one up with terrible might.
The most optimistic
persons never are able stop searching for something new. They could
be an illustrative example of the right attitude towards the live
troubles. Alas, I'm not a such fighter by nature. All effort of my
parents to train me to be a person loving the fight and having the
spot rage have failed. Well, but it doesn't mean that I'd like to
turn to a crying monument spoiling other people's mood. Just that
moment an effective remedy came to my mind. It helped me during my
school and university years, it leaded me out the crisis. This is
banally easy - to take an album, paints, brushes and splash out
everything that disturbed you during the year. The paper will stand
everything. Usually couple of weeks of never resting painting were
enough for me. Then the creative devastation came and I saw there
wasn't need to hold my brush as catching at a straw - the life was
saved :-). Incredible lightness appeared capturing my soul, there
wasn't even a sign of a heavy cast-iron block of weariness, which
almost broken me before.
There are a lot of
scientific literature about the healing power of art (the most of
them are written with such tiresome language that none would like to
start any creative activity after reading them). Professional
therapists use various sorts of art in their work: modeling,
painting, music, theatre... But how to find a good specialist of art
therapy if even a simple therapists is beyond the reach? It's
elementary: one should become the art therapists for oneself.
It isn't important
at all if you are able to paint or draw or not, what to choose:
paints or pencils, clay or plastic ... You need just start and the
time would show what's better for you, what gives more freedom and
suits specially for you. As a matter of fact it isn't necessary to
create the world culture masterpiece (the museums are overfill
without our works), just help yourself to peep out the ''window'' of
art from your inner prison. The modern society makes us constantly
to restrain, but emotions keep on accumulating and pollute us
inside. We even don't notice how much has distorted our perception
of the world with years running over us. In childhood we saw the
light, bright, joyful world and what now? ... Since ancient Egypt
and Rome there is the same song about golden past times... But the
world hardly has been changing much for several thousand years. TV
screen can fade and lose its lustre with time, but not the world
around us.
Those ones who have
the happy possibility freely move can reduce stress using sport and
other physical activities (running, training simulators,
swimming...). Well, but what if the move has become a kind of
unrealizable dreams? There is the only way to create something.
First of all it's a great occasion to hook oneself from routine
weight of cares. On the other hand, it helps to free the crowded
emotions compressed inside our subconscious yard. Besides the great
pleasure from the process of art is very good helper, as you know
the positive emotions never caused damage. It's possible to continue
this list, but what for? If I haven't convinced you of the truth of
my statements about the art therapy's benefit, so even hundred
arguments more wouldn't help. Then just surf over the various art
sites and get pleasure contemplating beautiful images. However, I
hope, at least few of reading these words would believe in the crazy
idea, win the natural laziness and skeptic attitude, take risk to
try oneself in painting and wouldn't feel disappointed. |
